20 Agustus Essay
I am from indonesia. I came from a rural area in north Sumatra Indonesia. My father is a farmer and my mother is an elementary teacher. My personal goal is to be useful and making an impact for others. I said that I am a hardworker and persevere person, my brain might not be as a clever many people, nonetheless I am eager to learn new things.
I have a great passion for Information technology since I was a college student. I found it interesting and this industry will never stop growing. There is always new technology to use, new methodology to learn and these days, people are more aware about technology also. IT has been used in every single aspect of our life. Every company will need it in order to face fast pacing environment growth, manage all of their assets, making decisions, and others.
I am proud to take part in the IT world, starting my first career in 2015 as a software engineer at Kurio.co.id. In past 3 years later, I decided to move my career as a software development engineer in test (SDET), my last position was as a senior SDET at one of the biggest e-commerce and a unicorn company in South East Asia. I decided to move my career as an automation test engineer, since this field really high demand in the IT industry and not many people expert in that field. I also love to write technical things, therefore I wrote books related to automation software testing in my country in 2018.
After finishing my master's degree from MUM, I plan to go back to my home country. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and the 16th-largest on the global map by World Bank report in 2019, so there are so many IT industry and company that need IT expert. My next career might be as a software test architect and automation test tools researcher, since it's quite close with my previous career. I also would continue writing several programming books and tutorial books, since IT books written in Indonesian language is rare.
The “Paradigm Shift” as individual to me is “know who I am” and goal to be useful. I am not from a rich family or born in the big city or jenius person. So, if I would like to shift from previous condition, I should have big motivation based on my own awareness to work hard. I have several movements based on my awareness, firstly I was not the best student from my college, I was below the average from all students. However, I was the first one who continue my masters degree abroad. Secondly, at my company there were many employees more clever than me, nonetheless I got promoted faster. Lastly, at 24 years old, I wrote my first books. To sum up, the mindset “know who I am” and goals to be useful would be my motivation to keep my awareness in fulfilment this life for now and the future. As additional, transcendental meditation (TM) would help me keep conscious about “who I am” and my goals.
